Motivation is one of the most important feelings, since thoughts influence the way, you look at life and face problems.
A person who has trouble getting motivated is likely to find it difficult to achieve short-term goals.
However, the bible has the answers in its scriptures, to fill the mind with God’s word and begin to have more positive thoughts.
Overcome lack of motivation with Bible verses.
Heb 4:12 expresses that God’s word is living and powerful, one way to change discouragement for more motivation is to know God’s word and adapt its teachings to life.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Psalm 9:19
Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph;
let the nations be judged in your presence.
In this psalm, God expresses how those who trust in his name live confident, since God will never abandon his children and will be their strength to overcome difficulties.
Keeping in mind that God does not abandon even in the greatest trials gives the motivation to face the problems.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken.
However, the lack of motivation many times is also due to lack of faith or trust, God commands us to entrust our worries to him.
Psalm 55:22 shows that God will not allow the righteous to fall, on the contrary, he will sustain them and raise them up in victory.
Psalm 118:24
The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.
The first positive thought to adapt in life is that God is always by his children’s side, he will help them in their problems and give them the strength they need.
One should always begin a new day rejoicing and trusting that God will supply the needs and solve the problems.
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
Conversely, fear or anxiety are also part of the worries about the future that cause a lack of motivation.
Trusting that God will strengthen and protect from the dangers of the world is another step in changing negative thoughts and improving motivation.
Psalm 32:7
You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Likewise, Psalm 32:7 teaches that God is a refuge in which everyone can be protected, as well as find a place of deliverance.
God in his infinite mercy knows the worries of the mind and heart and knows the problems his children are facing.
Facing a problem is difficult in most cases, but the best motivation is to know that God will be always there.
Proverbs 16:4
The Lord works out everything to its proper end—
even the wicked for a day of disaster.
God also has a purpose for every person, even the wicked have a purpose in the world, for God has willed it so.
Therefore, we must always think that God knows what will happen in the future, and trust that everything will turn out well since God has promised it.
Christian writer Gary Thomas also spoke in BibleGateway about how God created each person with a different temperament and purpose.
“God has created us with different spiritual temperaments, and we all relate to God in different ways according to those temperaments. The Sacred Pathways draws on Scripture, church history, and the Christian classics to describe the nine “pathways” through which believers can draw near to God with new freedom, enthusiasm, and joy” Said Gary Thomas.
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
In turn, Matthew 11:28 teaches that God will receive and give rest to all burdened or weary people who think they can do no more.
Even if a problem is extremely great, God will give rest to the worries, calm the anxiety and receive with open arms, just as a friend would.
Matthew 28:20
And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
God in His infinite mercy and love for mankind has expressed that He will supply every need forever.
The Lord assured that he would be with his children until the last day, no matter how difficult it may be, therefore we must keep the faith that God will be there at all times.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
If, on the other hand, the lack of motivation has more to do with past mistakes, we must always remember that God will forgive and cleanse our sins.
God is faithful and just, and in 1 John 1:9 God has said that He will forgive anyone who seeks Him and confesses their sins, cleanse them, and change their lives.
God’s word is the best motivation to change thoughts, get motivated and start a new life in faith.
John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Likewise, all the afflicted will find peace in God, regardless of negative thoughts God will turn them into something completely new.
In God is peace, even when facing the hardest afflictions, God will give strength and motivation to his children to continue.
How to attack the lack of motivation
With all that has been said above, and knowing the word of God, another way to attack lack of motivation is prayer, opening the heart to God.
God has given us the tools to face trials and has sent the Holy Spirit to help us in times of evil.
Prayer drives away fears, because prayer expresses faith in God and in his promises is to accompany his children to the end.
God commands in the sacred scriptures to be brave, just as he commanded Joshua to replace Moses as the leader of the Israelites. Joshua 1:9.
Therefore, the key to overcome demotivation is to change negative thoughts, internalize the word of God and put it into practice, trust in God who will supply in difficult times and that even if we falter, God will be the refuge in the darkest moment.
